An in-person option may be available. WSEMS follows the current CDC, state, and local health and safety guidance for in-person gatherings.

The Wisconsin Special Education Mediation System helps parents and schools work together to resolve disputes about special education.
We do not provide legal advice or advocacy for either parents or districts, and we do not mediate 504 plan disputes.

How do you complete the Request for Mediation form?

A Request for Mediation form is completed:

Together: After discussing the issues, the parents (or guardian or adult student) and the school representatives may decide they need a neutral person to help them to resolve the issues. This is called a joint request.

OR:

Individually: A parent, adult student, or school representative may request mediation.
